1. Canyon Trip

March 1-3rd, 2027

3 days trip

​

Itinerary:

 

First day

​

We will meet at Base Camp for 10 am. You can either trailer to Fraserdale or ride. Make sure you are full of gas at the top of the canyon. We will then go through the canyon. Make sure to bring a lunch. We will have gas waiting for us on the other side of the canyon. We will then keep riding the power line all the way to Tozer's with seeing Otter Rapids Hydro Dam. We will have dinner and sleep at Onakawana camp. (William and Pam Tozer's place) Around a 100km of playing.

Second day

This is a more relax day (Around 220km day). Breakfast at Onakawana Camp at around 8am. Leave around 9am to make our way down river to Moose Factory. Have lunch in Moose Factory.  Go fuel up in Moosonee. Go ride on the Arctic Ocean (James Bay) Come back before diner at Onakawana Camp. Possibility to buy liquor in Moosonee for AT CAMP ONLY.  Also possible to buy oil in Moosonee.

Third day

Last day, have breakfast at around 8am. Leave by 9am. Make our way back same way we came in. At Abitibi Canyon, people can choose the east side or the west side of the loop to make their way back to Cochrane (250km) or to Smooth Rock Falls (190km) or load back on their trailer.  Guides will trailer back to Hearst from Fraserdale.

2. Up The Coast

March 8-12th, 2027

Visit 5 communities along the James Bay coast. 5 days of snowmobiling in Ontario's Subarctic. Learn about Indigenous culture, meet amazing people, live new experiences and enjoy winter at its full potential.

Itineary:

The night before, safety meeting in the Companion's garage at 7pm.

​

First day 

Starting from Hearst, we ride along the Missinaibi river (Mattice river).  We leave at 8 am on the first morning because we have a big day. (280km) We are having lunch on the trail the first day. (Bring your own) (Lunch can be prepared by the Companion Hotel Motel, ask receptionist for lunch box)  We get to see Thunder House Falls and Hell's Gate Canyon. We will stop at a warm up shack halfway. To then continue on the river till we reach the power line to cross to the Abitibi River. We will have dinner and sleep at Onakawana camp. (William and Pam Tozer's place)

Second day

Breakfast at the camp at 8am, leave by 9am. Ride power lines and the Moose River as well as the winter road. Go through Moose Factory and Moosonee. Have lunch in Moose Factory. Sleep at CC's Bed & Rest Guesthouse in Kashechewan. Have dinner at CC's.

Third day

Have breakfast at CC's. We then head out towards Attawapiskat for lunch. Ride on the bay. Spend a night at Leona's camp learning about Indigenous culture, have a traditional souper and listen to stories.

Fourth day

Have breakfast at CC's.  Leave to go have lunch in Moose Factory. And head back up river to go stay at Onakawana. Have souper at the camp.

 

Fifth day

Last day, have breakfast at around 8am. Leave by 9am. Make our way back. See Otter Rapids Hydro Dam as well as Abitibi Canyon. At Abitibi Canyon, people can choose the east side or the west side of the loop to make their way back to Cochrane (250km) or to Smooth Rock Falls (190km). You can choose to have lunch at the base camp or in Smooth Rock Falls. Trip ends in Smooth Rock. (Choice to come back to Hearst or head Cochrane. Guides usually trailer back to Hearst.)
